At Big Hollywood, what I hope will be an ongoing feature spotlighting wounded veterans. In this instance, it’s Major Kent Solheim. Why the media continues to completely ignore these stories is beyond me. Well, not really, but it’s still disgusting.

    The money raised for the Road 2 Recovery ride will support Spinning® and outdoor cycling programs at Military and VA locations around the United States. Cycling is an important part of the recovery and rehabilitation program for two reasons:

    1. Cycling is an activity that almost all patients with mental and physical disabilities can participate.
    2. Participation in the Road 2 Recovery Program helps speed up the recovery and rehabilitation process.

    Cycling provides and offers a low impact physical endurance and emotional release exercise from the demons & stress of returning to life after war and injury. Cycling is also a means to reintroduce and help transition those injured back into society. It provides and expands a support network outside of the traditional family and VA system. The bicycle, and cycling friends will always be present and available when parents die, spouses divorce, and the Veterans Administration is so over burdened that it becomes part of the problem.
