Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

geiselIn the Corner, John Miller points out that today would be the birthday of the incomparable Dr. Seuss. The man was a true genius, and retained his genius even when writing some of his most leftist work (Miller mentions the Lorax and the Butter Battle Book). Along with Jim Henson (UMD shout out), I would estimate that Dr. Seuss had the most positive impact on my personal creative development as a young child. Hop on Pop is the first book that I can remember sitting down and reading with my mom and dad. That’s about as impactful as I can imagine.

Thank you Theodor Geisel.
