CPAC Straw Poll
But the second paragraph reads thusly:
With 20 percent of the vote, Romney finished ahead of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who received 14 percent, as well as Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who each had 13 percent.
The presumed implication of the headline is that the GOP, at least at this early stage, is still ready to nominate the northeastern DC insider, that nothing has changed. But the reality is that the “big two” – Jindal and Palin – crushed Romney together. I have little doubt that if respondents in the poll were allowed to choose two candidates, Palin and Jindal (and probably Paul as well) would have both finished ahead of Romney.
