Maybe She Didn’t Read the Job Description?

Michelle Malkin highlights a story in the Times this morning in which our own Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano ordered a review of an immigration raid on an engine plant in Washington state.

Apparently Janet is a little hot and bothered over the raid, which resulted in the arrest of 28 illegal immigrants. Her reasoning?

“She was not happy about it because it’s inconsistent with her position, and the president’s position on these matters,” said the official, who agreed to discuss the matter on condition of anonymity because the secretary had not authorized the conversation.

Yes, arresting and deporting people in this country illegally and presumably living and working under false or stolen identities is apparently inconsistent with the Department of Homeland Security’s “position.”

Our country is rapidly becoming a bad parody of itself.

  1. Johnny,
Janet Napolitano was my former governor in Arizona. I wouldn’t have the confidence in her to run a neighborhood block watch program much less the DHS. People should be very concerned. They should also be outraged that their senators were not more vocal about her appointment to this position. She’ll do what’s political over what’s right every time. Brace yourself, unfortunately, for lots more of these kinds of stories involving Napolitano.

    • Heyyy, my first comment – thanks 🙂 Again, love your list!

Unfortunately, I think your description of Napolitano could apply to most of the people we’ve got running things right now, i.e. they’ll do what’s political over what’s right every time. Even more unfortunate, that description can be equally applied to many of the GOP representatives we currently have. Cleaning house is going to be painful.
